Welding Class – Fixing up an old trailer…

After many years of use (and abuse!) our old farm trailer finally broke down. This old trailer has been used in pretty much every type of job around here over the years. The most important jobs it does is haul firewood and help in gathering sap when we make our Maple Syrup! Without the old trailer, a lot of things would quickly become difficult around here to accomplish. Since moving to our farm, I have wanted to learn how to weld. I think it is a great skill to have, so I thought there’s no time like the present to learn! I asked my father to teach me, as he ran a body shop years ago. We took apart the old wood and cut off the tongue of the old trailer, as it had split in many places. I had an old truck frame and we used pieces of it along with a lot of old metal to brace up our new project. We decided to do a quick tack-up job for now, as I need the trailer soon. Syrup season is closing in!
